👺 WTF is goblintown?!

Why these horrendous creatures are at 2 ETH, Bitcoin update, DraftKings X Crypto

GM, tmrw is Thursday!

Hey everyone, and welcome to another issue of NFToday!

I hope your week has been going well; mine has been fantastic.

It's been wonderful here in SoCal. Soaking up the sun has never felt better!

On to the news!

In today's newsletter:

👺 WTF is Goblintown...

📈 Consolidation...

💸 DraftKings to implement crypto!

Trending OpenSea collections:

goblintown.wtf - 2.075 ETH

AIMoonbirds - .15 ETH

Boki - .439 ETH

Note: Floor prices of these may or may not be different when reading this!

WTF is goblintown & and why is it at 2 ETH...

goblintown - opensea

Listen, I'm all for:

  • hyping up a project

  • becoming a part of an exclusive community

  • collaboration

  • enjoying roadmap benefits

  • Etc.

But these have to be some of the ugliest mfers I've ever seen, like seriously, what are those!

Opinions aside...

With what started as a free mint, these little guys have gone parabolic over the past five days. The goblins have a total traded volume of 8.6K ETH (or approximately $16.5M).

Which begs the question, why?

Rumor has it that the gobs are perhaps linked with Yuga Labs somehow.

Previously this year, Yuga Labs included "Goblins" within its revenue channels. While it's doubtful these two are linked, web3 is unpredictable, to say the least.

This theory, in combination with the widespread Twitter shill for the project, has driven the gobs to the moon.

Despite the project's impressive floor and mediocre art (again, my opinion), currently, goblintown has:

  • no utility

  • no roadmap

  • no discord

  • undoxxed team

Don't listen to me; if anything, goblintown could be the next "mfers" for all we know.

Consolidation, with a hint of Consolidation

There's no need to show Bitcoin's candle chart; it's practically been the same picture for the past two weeks!

The fear and greed index still showcases "extreme fear," despite the goblintown run-up...

In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised if even the slightest bit of news triggered the price to go up or down.

It seems as if the market makers are patiently waiting for something to occur!

Let's just hope that "something" is something bullish!

DraftKings to implement Crypto:

Draft Kings

Draft King's CEO Jason Roberts says they're looking into implementing crypto into their platform in a recent podcast hosted by Decrypt.

After sharing his bullish remarks on web3's future, Roberts and the company assume there'll be difficulty with implementation, considering all the legal regulations they already have to note.

If you weren't aware, sports betting is only legal in a handful of U.S. states.

Robert went on to claim that he's wary of introducing to the new technology, especially when gambling is involved:

"There's protections that people don't necessarily have in the crypto space that we think are important," he said. "We feel like in order to introduce something like that to our platform, we need to go a little bit beyond maybe where some others in the market have gone, because there's an expectation from our customer that we do so."

Regardless, crypto implementation seems like a dream come true for a gambling site like Draft Kings. I can't tell you how often I've failed to realize that 0.1 ETH still equates to about $200 (currently).

Nevertheless, adoption is adoption!
