A skill every Web3 enthusiast NEEDS to master...

Don't take your toolbox for granted!

GM GM GM

How’s it, everyone!

At the time you’re reading this, I’ll be in MEXICO! Last-minute, my girlfriend and I were given the opportunity to go on vacation for little to no cost. Impulsively, we both said yes!

You’re probably thinking, what does that mean for the newsletter? Well, unlike my June getaway, I prepared!

Drumroll, please…

I present to you the Ultimate 4 Part Web3 Networking Guide!

*cue fireworks, lasers, and applause*

This 4 part guide will consist of:

  • The Importance of Sentiment Exchange

  • The Motivation of Reassessment

  • The Influx New Opportunities

  • The Good and Bad of Making Connections

While I’ll be away from my computer, I’ll still be active on Twitter!

As always, don’t be afraid to reach out.

With that being said, let’s get on with the series!

1: The Importance of Sentiment Exchange

In an ecosystem where ideas, thoughts, and perspectives run wild, being closed-minded and unwilling to embrace views that aren't your own can limit your creativity and stance on any given idea.

Networking completely counteracts this through collaboration and an expression of opinions and outlooks.

Being open to ideas from others can significantly impact your own in a way you wouldn't previously have considered!

I honestly couldn't tell you how often this mentality stopped me from reaching out to people (not just in web3, life in general).

I have a feeling that I'd be a lot further in life if I didn't keep my networking circle so small, yet it's hindsight at this point, no reason to dwell.

My First Breakthrough...

It's truly remarkable how beneficial hearing someone speak for 5 minutes on a topic they're passionate about can ultimately shift your perspective.

About 2-3 months after starting NFToday, I scheduled a call with an incoming NFT founder named @danteano. We ended up having an hour-long conversation on the intricacies of his and his team's upcoming collection.

The call was incredible; he described his project and aspirations in a way that I never would've been able to comprehend without speaking with him.

After that call, I made it a goal of mine to talk and engage with as many people as possible, and I couldn't be happier with my list of contacts.

For those wondering, Dante and I still say what's up every so often!

The Start of NFToday Compared to Today

Here's a little story for you.

I created NFToday with the intent of monetary gain.

I know, shame...

If you know me, you might be asking who the hell is writing this newsletter, as today I would never say something like that. I constantly preach the idea of organic/authentic growth; your results just aren't the same without it.

After my first month of writing newsletters, speaking with people, and understanding the ecosystem's motivations, values, and outlook, I was influenced to shift my perspective.

Since then, the trajectory of my goals and aspirations have changed in an amazing way.

While monetary gain is still something I intend to pursue, it's by no means the driving factor of my work as previously.

While this excerpt isn't directly related to networking, it's indirectly related as it pertains to the mindset needed to be open-minded and willing to embrace the ideas and perspectives of others.

TL;DR

  • Don't be closed minded

  • Embrace new perspectives

  • You don't know everything
