Minecraft NFTs?

Minecraft BANS NFTs, ETH update, and a tragic ENS story...

GM frens

Hey, and welcome back to another issue of NFToday!

I am pooped...

  • Pooped from writing

  • Pooped mentally

  • Pooped from a lack of social interaction

I paused today and asked myself if I was getting burnt out.

I concluded that I wasn't sure; while I may be pooped, my desire and vision to succeed within the space is so strong that it doesn't really feel like work.

In all honesty... I think I'm just sitting on my ass too much.

CONTENT ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE

Welp, here's you're a reminder to go touch some grass!

Let's get on with the news with my rant out of the way.

In today's newsletter:

  • Minecraft NFTs? SIKE.

RIP the Minecraft Metaverse

Minecraft

"An NFT is a unique, non-editable, digital token that is part of a blockchain and often purchased with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin." - Official Minecraft Article.

Yeah, that's an actual quote directly from Minecraft.net...

Anyways, Mojang (the company behind Minecraft) published an in-depth article describing what NFTs were, how people were using them on Minecraft, and their overall opinions.

Needless to say, it wasn't good...

Mojang/Microsoft outright banned NFTs from being utilized on their platform.

For those unaware, a multitude of NFT projects have built upon Minecraft's open source platform due to the game's popularity and creative freedom. The most notable is NFT Worlds, a staking metaverse collection with over 50k total volume traded on OpenSea.

As expected, the land plots took a hit.

Prior to the news, NFT World plots had a floor of 3-4 ETH. At the time of writing this, plots are sitting at roughly 1.15 ETH. In all honesty, with how detrimental the news was, I'm surprised it's not lower.

Then again, Azuki is still sitting at 10+ ETH, sooooo...

Here was NFT World's official response:

Downside?

Ethereum - Webull

ETH's been going strong the past few days, big props to all the bulls out there getting shit done!

Despite the run-up, what comes up must go down at some point.

While a retest of the $1,300 level isn't guaranteed by any means, it might be what's coming.

Despite how "oversold" we are on the daily and weekly charts, Ethereum was actually "overbought" for a short period on the hourly time frame, according to the RSI.

A break and retest of $1,300 could be really beneficial to ETH if it holds!

Until tomorrow!

I bring to you a tragic story about an ENS domain that sold yesterday for 100 ETH.

Yup, you heard that right.

stop-doing-fake-bids-its-honestly-lame-my-guy.eth sold yesterday for 100 ETH.

Here's the story.

Yesterday, a well-known NFT influencer who goes by @franklinisbored bought the domain in an attempt to immediately flip it for a quick buck.

He went on to place a bid on his newly minted domain at an exuberate number so automated ENS bid bots on Twitter would pick up on them.

Unsurprisingly, it worked:

Minutes later, Franklin received a 1.891 WETH offer for the domain. Franklin quickly accepted and took to Twitter, announcing his successful finesse. Filled with excitement and dopamine, Franklin forgot to cancel his initial bid. The rest was history:

Don't feel too bad for the guy, he does own 57 apes!!!!!
