Two twenty-year-old NFT project founders get a taste of their own medicine after being arrested and sentenced to up to forty years in prison for rugging.

In January of this year, Ethan Vinh Nguyen and Andre Marcus Quiddaoen Llacua launched their first NFT project, "Frosties," which quickly sold out. Soon after, Nguyen and Llacua deactivated their website and discord and made out with a nice $1.1M check. As a result, the promised utility was never provided.

After investigative research, the information linked with Nguyen and Llacua's discord accounts matched up with their Coinbase accounts. Investigators quickly acquired access to the account's government IDs and credit card information to establish their true identities.

Prior to the arrest, the two fraudsters were getting ready to launch another project titled embers. The timing of the arrest couldn't have been better, as the new project was set to mint tomorrow, March 26th.

This is a HUGE win for the NFT community as scams and rugs have run rampant for as long as NFTs have been around. This marks the first-ever U.S. arrest linked to an NFT rug. Hopefully, it won't be the last.

The lesson to be learned here is to research a project's devs before hopping into something solely based on hype.

It's safe to say that Ethereum has been on fire lately! Volume is picking up, NFTs are catching momentum, and I'm excited to wake up and check my portfolio! As opposed to a few weeks ago, I struggled even to write anything on the crypto market, considering how flat and stagnant price action was.

Yesterday, Ethereum's price action formed an even better-looking bull flag than its previous days! Price action consolidated tightly upon the nine-day exponential moving average, then launched shortly after.

We'll see where we go from here. As of now, we're looking pristine!

For those unaware, the MVFW is an event put on by Decentraland intended to provide web3 related opportunities for brands and organizations looking to integrate themselves into the metaverse.
