ETH 2.0 is here! (almost)

• RIP Tornado...

• $2,000?!?

• ETH 2.0 is upon us!

Popular cryptocurrency mixer, Tornado Cash, has officially been sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Treasury!

Woohoooo!

For those unaware, Tornado is a privacy-centered protocol that allows for anonymous blockchain transactions. This renders the power of the transparent ledger to be essentially useless. For months, Tornado has been used by malicious crypto launders to clean stolen funds.

Most recently, a hacker group named Lazarus stole close to $100M worth of crypto from the Harmony protocol! After acquiring the funds, a quick rinse through Tornado was all that was needed to clean the money.

Now upon visiting Tornado.cash, you can see that the website has been officially taken offline! To add, the alleged 29-year-old developer of Tornado has been arrested following the sanction! 

If you've been subscribed to NFToday for a while now, you know how much I HATE Tornado!

It was only a matter of time before regulators shut a protocol like this down!

On Friday, I said Ethereum was off to the races...

Today, I'd say it's off to the moon!

Despite the bullish momentum, we might see some downside. Ethereum's RSI currently claims the currency is exceptionally overbought. Not to mention, we're now having some serious trouble breaking through $2,000.

Regardless, it was an excellent refresher to see watcher.guru tweet out that Ethereum had surpassed $2,000 for a few minutes!

Keep on pushing ETH!

Ethereum 2.0 is almost here, with its completion being just around the corner!

Developers working on the extensive protocol claimed that the final test would be trialed between August 6th and the 12th!

With this period being over, ETH 2.0 should soon be in our future, with some sources claiming completion to be scheduled for September 15th - 16th!
